The WurliTzer organ, which is actually an Artizan Organ with a WurtiTzer operating system installed in it, has not been functional for approximately 40 years. A local organ restorer has agreed to repair the mechanism at no cost to the project, other than for parts. New music roles will likely be ordered as the existing ones appear quite fragile.
The front panel of the organ cabinet is missing and unfortunately there are no available photographs of it. Research is being undertaken to determine what the appropriate replacement will be. The façade may include an open area covered by a copper mesh; if that is the case, the Public Art Committee will be asked to assist in selecting a design and an artist to paint it on the mesh.
